Rare Vintage Shelley Polestar Yellow Tea Set for 6 (21 Pieces) c.1950's

It’s rare to find a complete and beautiful Shelley vintage English 21-piece bone china tea set. This set dates from the 1950’s and is in the Polestar pattern.

The Polestar pattern was produced in various colours.  This set is in the yellow colourway with creamy yellow interiors to the cups, milk jug and sugar bowl and deep creamy yellow banding to the plates, saucers and foots of the cups.  The white outside of the cups, milk jug and sugar bowl are decorated with little gold stars.  Gently scalloped rims edged in white.

Set consists of:

6 x Tea Cups (2¼” tall x 2¼” diameter of top rim).  One cup has a chip to foot – see below.

6 x Saucers (5¾” diameter)

6 x Tea Plates (6” diameter

1 x Cake / Sandwich Serving Plate (10” x 9”)

1 x Milk Jug (3¾” tall)

1 x Sugar Basin (3¼” tall by 4½” top rim diameter)

This set is in superb vintage condition with no damage EXCEPT there is a chip on the foot of one of the cups (clearly shown in one of the photographs).  We don’t usually offer cracked or chipped pieces but as this set is so rare and desirable, we are including the chipped cup to keep the set whole.  Listed price takes account of this damage.
