Colclough - Shop

Colclough was founded in 1890 in Herbert Joseph Colclough.  In 1913, he was visited by King George V and Queen Mary who gave royal license for Colclough to produce Royal Vale China.

Colclough was a major mass producer of bone china tea sets such that they advertised themselves as "Britain's largest manufacturer of bone china".  Colclough brought some of the most beautiful designs and patterns to the market and were extremely popular.  Only a small number of patterns, however, were given a name with most being identified simply by a number which was often not stamped onto the wares so pattern identification can often be difficult.

Over the years, the company went through various mergers and acquisitions becoming part of the Royal Doulton Group in the 1970's.
