Antique William Ridgway & Sons "Humphrey's Clock" Footed Serving Bowl c.1879-1890

Humphrey’s Clock is a series of views depicting scenes from Charles Dickens’ stories.  They are taken from a magazine in which Dickens’ stories were first published.

This delightful antique bowl, which I think is a small serving bowl rather than a soup bowl, dates from about 1879-1890 so is about 140 years old. 

It was manufactured by William Ridgway & Son and is in remarkably good condition for its age.  There are a few marks and manufacturing flea bites but these are to be expected in a piece such of this type and age.  There is no physical damage, no cracks or hairlines that I can see.

Size is 9¾” diameter across the top and 3¼” deep.

A great antique piece.
