The late 1960’s and early 1970’s saw a revolution in popular styles of dinner and tea ware.  Colours were very much orange and brown or blue and brown.

This cake plate  manufactured by Ridgway is in the pattern called Amanda and is in the iconic blue and white colouring with stylised flowers in shades of blue over a brown border on the cup, echoed without the brown border on the saucer.  All on pure white china.  This would have been every day ware in its time rather than an expensive set put away for “best”.
