Vintage 3-Tier Semi -Mismatch Cake Stand. Coalport Athlone Blue & Reids. Quirky

The pieces that make up this semi- mismatch, rather quirky, cake stand are from Coalport China in their beautiful Athlone Blue which dates from about 1970-1993.  The middle tier is Reids Park Place china dating from the period between 1913 and 1920.

This cake stand with its gold tone central fittings is stunning and unusual.

The cake stand has been lovingly handmade in our workshop from vintage pieces chosen to go well together to make an attractive and unusual 'one of a kind' serving stand for you to enjoy.  

 The top tier is a soup coupe with its accompanying bottom saucer.  This makes it not only really useful as a regular cake stand but the top bowl can be used to serve sweets, biscuits or other small bites.  It also makes a good stand for savouries, serving cheese, etc, as the bowl can be used for olives, pickles and the like.

Bottom plate measures 10" x 9"

Central Plate measures 7" diameter

Top Saucer measures 6¼" diameter

Top Bowl measures 4½"

Overall height is approximately 14"

 The stand can, of course, be set as a two-tier stand or, indeed, as a one-tier stand using just one of the plates and the central handle.  To accommodate the additional thickness of the cup and saucer, the top central fitting has a slightly longer screw.  If setting up as a 3-tier stand without the soup coupe, you will need to use a second washer above and below the saucer so the top doesn't wobble.  Extra washers supplied for this.

Colour of central fitting is gold.

Note: Central fitting is a high quality, heavy duty one.  Not one of the more flimsy ones used by a lot of other sellers of cake stands.
